New European Bauhaus a major catalyst of the European Green Deal, funding to be scaled up further

The European Commission will increase funding for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) with an additional €106 million from the Horizon Europe program for 2023-24. The Neb has created a network of organizations and citizens across Europe for projects of sustainability, inclusion and aesthetics. Long-term emergency and reconstruction pilot projects are also active in Ukraine. This was communicated by the EU Commission in a note on the results of the project.

This year, the New European Bauhaus will develop the NEB Academy and will put in place trainings on sustainable construction, circularity, and biobased materials to accelerate the transformation of the sector.

The report on the New European Bauhaus we present today show the great achievements accomplished to-date. And 2023 will bring new adventures, notably to young Europeans who will soon be walking the roads of the NEB thanks to the Erasmus+ “Discover EU” action. They will be able to experience first-hand that the New European Bauhaus is a movement capable of changing our lives. And I am particularly pleased that education will be in the spotlight with a special category for the NEB Prizes and with ad hoc trainings on sustainable topics thanks to the NEB Academy.
